Objectives

The GIPFP is an academic space whose general objective is to contribute to the construction of knowledge on the forensic and penitentiary reality of our country. To this end, it is important to encourage reflection on persons deprived of liberty and power relations, taking into account domination and violence as well as the resistances and agencies present in punishment systems such as Penitentiary Establishments (EP) and Juvenile Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Centers (CJDR). Likewise, the group seeks to promote and develop research on criminalized persons and forms of punishment with a view to influence and transform treatment policies and/or the detention and imprisonment system.

Research Topics

  • Identities/subjectivities in contexts of confinement.
  • Violence, domination and resistance strategies.
  • Prison treatment and resocialization.
  • Governance, management and dynamics in detention systems.
  • Community participation and social action in persons deprived of liberty.
